My Future as a Continuing Learner

As I continue teaching, I know I must continue to find effective methods of teaching and managing the students I serve. Because of this I need to continually think of my future as a learner of educational methods, practices and growing trends. It is easy to get lost the in the vast array of topics I want to inquire about and develop. The amount of ideas that have been funneled into my daily thoughts and activities as a result of completing my Masters, attending Professional Developments and participating in numerous workshops continues to expand my classroom practice.
Furthermore, the way in which those ideas have and still are reconstructing my notion of how I learn, and what I want to learn are becoming increasingly important as I continue in my professional responsibilities. In terms of content, the continued inquiry into topics such as leadership, untitled leadership, learners and multiple intelligences as well as curriculum development, will be of continued interest. Equally the use of educational technologies with instruction will also be a continued interest. These preferences are a combination of personal interest, prior exposure through programs and schooling as well as a necessity at my current job placement. As topics of such high priority, they will necessitate various methods of discovery. At this point, those methods will seemingly be through avenues such as professional development both at school and through online seminars, educational conferences, idea sharing with students, and finally, the potential pursuit of a doctoral degree. I plan to begin my pursuit of a doctoral degree in the Spring of 2015.
The various topics of choice for my future learning are a culmination of a variety of experiences. While school administration is in my near future, for now I will continue to develop positive effects in my classroom and the entire school environment. Being a Facilitator, teacher and coach, there are numerous opportunities not just to empower myself but also to help empower the students, coaches and colleagues around me in a way that could benefit everyone.
