About Me
Jason Peinert came to Baltimore from the great state of Ohio where he attended Bowling Green State University and pursued a degree in teaching.  After receiving his teaching certificate, he began his teaching career with Baltimore City Public Schools, where he fell in love with the city its students.  He has taught at a Middle School position for the past seven years.

His current position has him teaching 7th grade Social Studies at Leith Walk Elementary/Middle, having spent the last seven years at Northeast Middle School.  He has served many positions in his career, most recently as a City Schools Teacher Leader, New Teacher Institute Facilitator, a PBIS Team Leader, and a City Schools’ curriculum writer. During the summer, Jason is a director for the Summer Jump Learning Program as an activities director and has served as a middle school master teacher for the Gilder Lehrman Teaching American History Summer Institute.  At the end of this school year he received the first ever middle school teacher Financial Education and Capability Award presented by Maryland Council on Economic Education and the Maryland State Department of Education.

He has a passion for teaching the students of Baltimore and can be found seeking out new ideas to share with content area teachers.  With this, comes a passion for sharing his experiences so his colleagues so they are able to utilize their time more efficiently in the classroom.  Working with new teachers has helped him expand his teaching toolbox, while helping to fill those that are new to the school systems. He has been facilitating various Workshops and Professional Developments for the last five years working with both high school and middle school social studies teachers, where he has been committed in helping all teachers in the district be prepared and ready to be the best teachers they can be for the students of Baltimore City.

He and his family have been active members of the Baltimore City community since moving here over eight years ago.  His wife works in the medical field, and his daughter attends Kinder-care, where she is in the two year old class.

He is licensed to teach a variety of subjects in Social Studies, including Sociology, Psychology, and various classes related in the field.  He can teach these Social Studies classes in grades 7-12.  He also has his Admin I and will be completing the needed test to receive his Admin II.

When he not teaching Jason can be found spending time with his family, going out to dinner, attending concerts and traveling to new places.  He especially enjoys visiting National Historic Sites, which help him expand the lessons he teaches in the classroom.
